La Machine

Join us at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum for an exclusive sneak peek at Ottawa’s premiere summer event, La Machine, presented by Ottawa 2017!

From July 15 to July 24, get a special behind-the-scenes look at the giant creatures that are set to roam in the heart of downtown Ottawa. La Machine will captivate the public with its dramatic urban theatre experience in the streets of the capital.

Special Activities Include: (with Museum admission)

Public Visits: The Museum will feature a “viewing site” where visitors will get an exclusive sneak peek at the machines. July 15 to July 24 inclusive, excluding July 18

Guided Visits:The Museum will offer a special guided tour of La Machine, which will include a visit to a mini exhibition as well as behind the scene access where visitors may get to see the giant creatures and the technical team in action. July 15 to July 24 inclusive, excluding July 18. We have had an overwhelming response for this event and online registration is now closed. There are limited spots available for in-person registration at the Museum.

Mini exhibition about La Machine: Get a glimpse of design sketches and photos, construction plans, and other items provided by the creators of La Machine. Access to the exhibition is Included in the price of general admission. July 15 to July 24 inclusive in the Space Discovery Center, Mezzanine.

Long Ma Film: Watch a film, approximately 30 minutes in length that tells the story of Long Ma the Dragon-Horse. Playing twice daily (once in French, once with English subtitles) between July 15 and July 24 inclusive.

Creative Activities: Join us in hands-on creative activities that promote the understanding of mechanical systems, and the robotic and mechanical systems used by La Machine. Every Thursday and Friday, at varying times, throughout the summer.

Lecture: The Museum will host a special lecture featuring La Machine’s art director, François Delarozière, who will speak about the company and their work. July 15 at 2 p.m. in the Mauril Bélanger Theatre. Registration is required. Click here to register.
