Come to the Museum this March Break and participate in some out-of-this world activities! Discover what it’s like to be an astronaut. Design your own space suit, test your physical skills in the astronaut training workshop, visit the new interactive space area, and learn how astronauts live and work aboard the International Space Station.
Special: Admission is free for Canadian Armed Forces personnel and their families!
Space Mining and Gaming
The Canada Science and Technology Museum is proud to present the Space Mining exhibition during March Break 2015 at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Learn all about the challenges associated with space mining and discover the ambitious plans scientists have to harvest space minerals.
During this special event, the Minecraft Gaming Workshop will take place everyday. Registered children will partake in an educational and collaborative adventure during which they will have to team up and work together to dig for materials and build a space shuttle.

The Rockcliffe Flying Club, the Eastern Ontario Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the Canada Aviation and Space Museum welcome girls and women to the Rockcliffe Airport!
The Eastern Ontario Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the Rockcliffe Flying Club will provide free flights to girls and women who have never flown in a small airplane!!
All are welcome, but the flights are only available to girls and women.!

Air Glide Competition
Build and fly your very own plane and learn how real planes are constructed. The longest flight of the day will get a special prize!!
Starting out with paper cups and string, children will discover the principles that govern the simplest form of string telephone then take on the hardest challenge of all getting the message to travel around corners!!
Build and Test model race cars
Put your building knowledge to the test! Design, build and test your race cars with our volunteer engineers made from simple material (plastic straws, Popsicle sticks, candies, tape…). Learn and experience the different steps of the engineering design process!!

Using large sheets of paper and your imagination, draw and design your very own astronaut suit!
Astronaut Training - 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an astronaut? In order to complete the many tasks involved in living and working in space, astronauts must physically prepare themselves by regularly performing activities such as lifting weights, running, swimming, and working on their hand-eye coordination. Join us for this astronaut training exercise and see if you have what it takes to become an astronaut.
You’re in Space Demonstration - 11:30am in the Bush Theatre
Learn about the technology behind recycling wastewater in Space.
Ejection Seat Demonstrations - 12:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
Learn how an ejection seat can save a pilot’s life. Have a blast while listening to our enthusiastic guides as they describe the ups and downs of ejecting from a fighter jet! Sit in an authentic ejection seat and learn how pilots use this essential piece of equipment.
Climb aboard and learn about the Canadair Tutor, MiG, or CF-18 cockpit with the assistance of our friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Cessna Interpretation Centre
Want the experience of flight but prefer to keep your feet on the ground? Here is your chance to sit at the controls of an aircraft without taking off! Our staff will assist you in boarding our Cessna 150 aircraft, and answer any questions you may have.
Bits and Pieces - Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.
