“And Look After Our Coasts”

The 1930s — years of crisis and war, and in Canada, the federal government became increasingly concerned. A modest re-armament program was launched, and the Royal Canadian Air Force became the country’s first line of defence. The priority given to coastal defence led to Canada’s production of various types of relatively modern aircraft. The photo essay “And Look after Our Coasts” highlights this important element of the Canadian re-armament program.
